Distribution management and planning means that we are using the resources available to us effectively to ensure that we meet the requirements of service levels promised to our customers. Freight is an important part of our daily lives and cost is always a consideration. Every delivery that moves goods from your warehouse to the end consumer has a cost associated with it. Calculating costs for each part of these distribution activities will provide info to make an informed decision of which way to go.

The handling of dangerous goods and chemicals requires special attention. In this lesson we will look at different classifications of dangerous goods, how to store them effectively and what needs to done to provide safe storages for such materials.

There are so many factors to consider when importing and exporting of goods. This lesson covers important considerations of trading between countries. It provides knowledge and understanding of legislations, costs and procedures involved when moving goods across borders.

For every item that is shipped out of the warehouse, the company needs to plan for its return. Consumer driver markets require any goods that are unwanted, incorrectly shipped or damaged during transportation must be returnable. This means procedures need to be in place to handle this.
